I have nothing against thoughts and prayers, just as I have nothing against getting a good night's sleep (to use but one example). But one also needs to rise and shine and sieze the day -- at least *some* days. By the same token, thoughts and prayers alone are not enough. It's time to get serious about gun control measures that do not intefere with the rights of responsible gun owners. Effective gun control does not mean what the NRA wants you to think the "libs" think it means -- it means taking concrete, common-sense steps to keep guns out of the hands of people like the Atlanta killer. It can be done, and it would be so refreshing to see more supporters of the Second Amendment get on board with this idea.
