I like Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, too, but I do agree that she can be prone to getting way too involved with less-than-urgent matters.

There is something to be said for defending oneself from bogus charges and outright smears, and she has had to endure more than her fair share of such bad faith attacks. But there is also something to be said for picking one's battles.

I do believe Ocasio-Cortez will grow and develop as a legislator and that a higher office may well await her. But as her career unfolds, I hope she can learn to see when it's time (as the late Kenny Rogers sang) to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.
